Solutions for Agriculture
Agriculture Solutions highlight projects involving the management of livestock, crops and irrigation. Activities include data collection, field mapping, yield monitoring, risk management.
Guidance
Start improving your efficiency in the field with an array of ag guidance products and accessories offered by Leica Geosystems. Whether you start with the new Leica mojoMINI lightbar or the more precise Leica mojoRTK — or anything in between — there are many opportunities to save time and money in your operation. mere
Application Control
Leica Geosystems currently offers auto-section control in the area of application control for agricultural products. The Company offers several options for adding auto section control to implements for both planting and spraying, minimizing over-spraying and –planting, enabling farmers to be more efficient in the field. mere
Precise Land Levelling in India
Declining water table and degrading soil health are the major concerns for the current growth rate and sustainability of Indian Agriculture. Thus proper emphasis is being given on the management of irrigation water usage for adequate growth of agriculture. mere
LandArte
In Ancient Greece, the concepts of art and technology were not yet separated. The term “tekhnae” stood for technology, art, crafts and handiwork. On another continent, and long before our epoch, a completely different culture, the Nazcas, laid down huge lines in the Peruvian highlands, the true extent of which is only revealed from the air. In present time, the year 2003 was the bicentennial anniversary of canton of St. Gallen – which includes the Alpine Rhine Valley where Leica Geosystems’ Swiss headquarters are located. This was the setting for 13 gigantic crop images, which sprouted and changed their appearance with the course of growth: LandArte. mere
Monitoring Farmland Activities with the ADS40
The Leica ADS40 Airborne Digital Sensor was used to acquire data of 90,000 square miles of agricultural land in Nebraska in the largest digital ortho project ever completed. The data is being used for farmland monitoring and management purposes by NAIP, a USDA-sponsored program. mere
Leica Benefits Farmers
“One of the reasons the GS50 was chosen is because it is the only receiver that works efficiently under tree canopy, along field boundaries, or even inside forests. This is due to Leica's MaxTrakTM algorithms that allow the receiver to track the maximum number of available satellites under tree canopy.” mere
Leica GS50 and the cow jumped
“After creating a codelist, we used the Leica GS50 receiver to collect all the feedlot data. When we first started, we had a lot of questions, and Leica provided us with training and technical support. When we have questions, the turnaround time for technical support has been very fast, which is great, and very helpful for us.” mere
Water depths
The DISTO OEM Module can be used for measuring to transparent fluids using a plumb bob and a floating disk which acts as a reflector. mere
Solid depths
With the DISTO OEM Module you can work alone, and yet twice as fast as compared with conventional procedures. mere
Super-rapid assessment
The DISTO OEM Module can be permanently mounted for continuous observation. mere
