Equipped with new, patented Tetrachroid beamsplitter technology, the SH51 Sensor Head of the Leica ADS40 2nd Generation Airborne Digital Sensor provides perfectly co-registered color and panchromatic images for stereo viewing. Its SH52 adds a stereo color-infrared capability.
Leica Geosystems was first to introduce the Large Format Digital Camera to the market in 2001. With more than 50 Airborne Digital Sensors delivered worldwide, Leica Geosystems has the experience to introduce two new sensor heads – SH51 and SH52 – for the ADS40 System. Professionals can produce 5 Band co-registered imagery to cover all applications in aerial surveying and airborne remote sensing. Time and costs are saved through simultaneous acquisition of true high-resolution panchromatic, color and colorinfrared digital images.
The guiding single-lens design principle for the ADS40 avoids multiple-lens image patching. Pan-colorizing with low-resolution spectral bands images is not required for the ADS40. The patented Tetrachroid 4-band beamsplitter of the ADS40 2nd Generation enables production of equal resolution 5-Band imagery. Thus, the ADS40 has reached the ultimate goal of uncompromising geometric and radiometric representation of the earth’s surface.
Best Imagery
The only high-resolution, fringe-free color and color infrared airborne imaging sensor
Highest resolution stereo viewing in true color and color infrared
Best quality images for remote sensing applications
Anytime
4 times faster flight speed
Extended flight day and flight season
Data collecting on overcast days
Anywhere
Greatest flexibility to perform international projects
Accommodates several IMU types providing performance, cost and exportability options
The Tetrachroid beamsplitter, designed for minimum loss of energy, ensures that the incoming RGB and IR light from the same area on the ground is detected by four sensitive CCD linear arrays.
